Friends of St. Peter's

F O S P - The Friends of St Peter’s Soberton.

This small independent charity aims to promote appreciation of the 800-year-old building that is St Peter’s and to help raise funds to keep it in good shape for future generations.   FOSP has a committee and finances separate from the Parochial Church Council (PCC).  It is not bound by the latter’s formal obligations as the main fundraising body for the maintenance and mission of the Church as a whole.  FOSP’s funds are directed only towards the fabric of the building.

We believe this beautiful and historic building is a local treasure for us all to appreciate – and what a lovely setting!  As in most churches, there is a printed guide available inside, giving an outline of its structure and history.

Look out for FOSP here and in future magazines for our events. They are open to all.  We gladly welcome new members and new ideas.  (We are also quite Friendly!)  Leaflets in the church give more details of our aims and activities.  For those who choose to be members £10 per household is the annual subscription, with no obligations.  Something new for 2019? - “A little help goes a long way”
